The East Zone Centre of Excellence for Research (Research@EastZone) at Temasek Junior College is organising a two full-day workshop (11 & 12March) on ‘Developing the Assessment Literacy' for education officers in the East Zone this year. The workshop will touch on the various strategies or processes involved in formative assessment and equip teachers with the necessary knowledge to plan meaningful assessment tasks that will aid in T&L. The target participants would be teachers or Key Personnel who have been tasked/identified or are currently engaged in driving/reviewing/refining assessment-related work at your school level. Action Reseach workshop for E2 (22-24 Feb 2010). The course involves a component of coaching of teachers in their projects after the workshop. The participants should team up for AR projects in their school or cluster. It is therefore advisable for teachers teaching the same subjects or having similar challenges (e.g. classroom management,etc.) to participate as a group.
Some areas of Action Research could include: a. Pedagogical practice b. Character development c. Classroom management d. Teaching strategies in the SEED classroom etc.
